Apply and Discover 11.1

In your Blogger blog, reflect on your growth and learning throughout the course. What have you learned this term? Reflect on yourself, technology integration, the importance of connecting to state standards, and, if relevant, your progress toward becoming a teacher. In what ways has your thinking changed about technology use in the classroom? What readings, discussions, or websites helped change your thinking? Be as specific as possible, using examples from your readings, resources, and discussion board posts.

--------------

I have learned so much in this class. A lot about the vast amounts of resources that are available for students of all learning styles and abilities. Its about providing the most enriching learning experience you possibly can. And technology is a great way of providing many helpful options. It is extremely important that all resources are utilized in classrooms. But also as a teacher it can be overwhelming with updates and security issues. It does depend on the school that you work for, the funding, training given, support as a whole from all areas in the school system so that all state standards are met. When I become a teacher I will make sure to use all tools that have been learned and shared in this class. And also keep up to date on the continuous growth that the internet offers for classes. I believe that all of the discussions have aided in development and preparation for teaching in the 21st century.Everything from state and school standards, utilizing online tools for lesson planning, online instruction, safety, and more was a great way to prepare all of us for up to date for teaching properly. I believe that keeping up to date an keep communication open that all students and teachers will benefit greatly from using technology in the classroom.

Apply and Discover 10.1

Provide feedback on your classmates' WebQuest presentations. Blog to at least 3 presentations. The first webquest was story2tell
 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HRzKBi_6UA
I like that she paired students, and accommodation for non verbal students. I like the consent of everyone has a story to tell. They click on "I remember when" all the directions are on post its which i like. It also is great that students can vote for the best and get to be posted as winners. That will make them want to achieve more. The peer conference form was great to keep students on task. I like that there will be a live performance which all students can access and its easy to use. Great webquest!

Next is Ms. M and M's Periodic Table Webquest
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0LjEiEb7gU I like that it is light hearted and using comedy. It draws the students in. Its going to be integrated with help from the teacher. She plays the element song which is a great way for students who have learning needs. I like the bingo and the team worksheets. I like the adobt an element which is great. And listening to the element song. It seems like it will be a very well accepted class, fun to participate in, and help with class integration with all students with all abilities. Great webquest!

 Landscaping using Geometry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUG7wmdjktY
It engages students by using a real world question to help involve students. Landscaping and geometry are used. They develop their own landscape. They will need to be able to use programs at school, using a 3-d program. I like how each shape will make a different portion of their work. and then they have to make a cost of work page. I believe it will be very beneficial in use for the grades listed.

Apply and Discover 9.1

Based on your readings and understanding of the laws of special education and promoting learning for all students, write a post in your Blogger blog responding to the question: What does it mean to "provide equal access to the digital world"? You need to be able to allow the most beneficial learning experience for every child. There should be no limitations on what is offered for students with all needs. The more you offer the more chances you will be able to provide a system that works for a student and allows them to learn everything they need to. With the most efficient and easy way. That's why I like the concept and implementation of universal design. I actually wrote in the discussion board the following; By using all the different types of universal designs, such as etest, livescribe pen, and more they have found that it has increased progress and learning in all courses that students are taking, with all types of disabilities. Its important that there is ongoing communication with the student to make sure its meeting their needs because the student can have what ever may not be working edited to create the best learning environment. Not only with the students feedback but its is also important to have coordination with all teachers, admins, etc.. In the school, to have drawn out plans and firm commitments made so that everyone stays on the same page and there is not room made for anyone to fall through the cracks. With all of this kept and mind I think that it is very useful. It needs to be equal for everyone, everyone in the school system needs to be on the same page with providing every student the best education possible. Communication is the key as well as up to date information and software.

Apply and Discover 2.1

* Blogger blog, reflect on the 1.1 short paper that you wrote on technology integration in today’s schools. Add specific ways that you would design instruction that addresses diverse learners’ needs and promotes technology use.

Apply and Discover 2.2.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Based on the nets a, by establishing the digital into the classroom culture. Its all about  focus on innovation and improvement in the classroom. And that it is being used effectively. To make sure its going to be used for the individual and diverse needs of users. And also digital calibrations. There has to be commitment my the teachers, administrators, and the entire school system.

It is found that it can discourage learning if you do not expand into the digital world. Because most students have access to the internet, email, news, and keep up with current events online. For these students incorporating technology will help bring challenge and focus and something they can connect with and interact with. The more interaction the more inspiration is given in what can actually be created and shared with. When students see technology as a gift of endless potential for their futures, it will aid in their continued growth through out all the years at school and home.

It is harder for the teachers who are digital natives but they need to update to using more technology in the classroom because of of now that is how students are able to learn more quickly and with more options for learning styles. Technology will always be growing and the more we implement it now In the classroom the more we are helping children get the best information and preparation for this world. Also the http://www.i-ready.
i-ready.com
com/ tools can be used to keep on track where students strengths are. And keep both the students and teachers organized and on the same page, to promote growth.

Importance is learning critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, communication, calibration, and so forth and the technologies available are going to help with people with growing these skills and talents that will only bring access to them in the 21st century (murray, 208. P.39)

The different generations are all going to grow, the millennial and the generation z’s to come they will be the ones who will use the web tools, video, blogging every day, texting, constantly creating. It shows that the new generation has grown up with structure and vision and are goal oriented and great multitaskers. Its that where the teacher can keep open communication with the students, having the students share their experiences and ideas and that will bring a great connection between students and teachers.

I also think it would be very important to add in penpals for the students, through email, and they can share scrapbooks, pictures, and so on. Maybe even skype chats for them in the classes to talk to other schools in different countries. Show them how big the world really is, get them excited that there are endless things to see and learn and i think it would be very inspiring for students.
